Heating and scalding of worm gear reducers and their treatment methods

Publish Time: 2023-05-10 Origin: site

If the worm  WPO147,WPO155,WPO175,WPO200,WPO250 gear reducer becomes abnormally hot, it should be handled properly:

In the application process of worm gear reducers, it is often encountered that the reducers become hot during operation. Causing rapid damage to the internal worm gear. If you notice a serious situation of overheating, please stop working immediately, find the reason for the overheating of the worm gear reducer, and clean it up. Due to severe overheating of the worm gear reducer, the wear resistance coefficient of the worm gear and worm will decrease, leading to rapid damage to the internal components of the reducer. The following are common causes of overheating in worm gear reducers and common solutions:

1. The oil seal is damaged, the sealing gasket is damaged, the oil level is too high, the oil plug is loose, and the oil pointer is damaged. Cleaning method: replace the oil seal, replace the sealing gasket, add an appropriate amount of lubricating oil, tighten the oil plug, and replace the oil pointer with the input or output shaft that does not rotate.

2. Overload transportation, insufficient or excessive lubricating oil, poor or inappropriate lubricating oil, excessive friction of oil seals, improper connection between output shaft and transmission device. Cleaning method: adjust to the appropriate load or select a large model, add appropriate lubricating oil according to the identification, add appropriate lubricating oil after oil discharge, drop a few drops of lubricating oil at the oil seal, and adjust to the appropriate position for gearbox noise.

3. Worm gear and worm gear have poor engagement, bearing damage or excessive clearance, insufficient lubricating oil, and debris invasion. Cleaning methods: repair the tooth contact surface, replace the bearing, add an appropriate amount of lubricating oil according to the identification, remove debris, and replace the lubricating oil for abnormal vibration.

4. Poor fixation of the transmission device, worm gear wear or damage, bearing wear or damage, loose bolts, and debris intrusion cleaning methods: fix the transmission device, replace the worm gear, replace the bearings, tighten the bolts, remove debris, and replace the lubricating oil for oil leakage.

5. Excessive working load, poor or inappropriate lubricating oil, insufficient lubricating oil, damaged bearings, and excessively high operating temperature.

Cleaning method: Adjust to the appropriate load, replace with appropriate lubricating oil, add appropriate lubricating oil according to the markings, replace bearings, and improve the ventilation environment.
