Several tips to reduce the noise of worm gear reducer

WPWE80-135,WPWE100-155,WPWE120-175,WPWE135-200,WPWE155-250 Worm gear reducers make noise during use, which is unavoidable. However, if the noise is too loud, it can affect normal operation. What causes excessive noise in worm gear reducers? How can we reduce the noise generated by worm gear reducers during use? Below are some tips summarized by reducer manufacturers through long-term experiments to reduce worm gear noise, hoping to be helpful to users.

1. The load is overloaded, exceeding the design parameters of the gearbox.

2. It is possible that the vibration on the equipment is transmitted to the gearbox through the coupling, causing the gearbox to vibrate and generate noise.

3. If the gearbox and equipment are connected through couplings, check to see how well the gearbox and equipment are aligned. It is possible that the noise is caused by misalignment.

4. The noise of the turbine reducer itself is relatively high, and the average noise value measured from the front, rear, left, right, and top five directions 1m away from the reducer is 70-75dB, which is normal. Therefore, the noise of the cycloidal reducer is still relatively high, but it does not affect its use (except for low or zero backlash).

5. What is the turbine reducer fixed on? Generally, high-power ones should be fixed on concrete, or embedded with steel plates on concrete. Concrete has good seismic absorption effect, while low-power ones can be installed on steel structure brackets. At the same time, attention should be paid to its stiffness, To prevent noise caused by resonance due to the same vibration frequency between the gearbox and the steel structure (solution: install an elastic gasket between the gearbox and the steel structure to avoid resonance frequency), or vibration noise caused by insufficient stiffness of the steel structure (solution: increase the stiffness of the steel structure).
