1. Ensure assembly quality. Special tools can be purchased or self-made. When disassembling and installing gearbox components, try to avoid using hammers and other tools to strike; When replacing gears and worm gears, try to use original accessories and replace them in pairs as much as possible; When assembling the output shaft, pay attention to tolerance fit; Use anti adhesive or red lead oil to protect the hollow shaft from wear, rust, or scale on the mating surface, which is difficult to disassemble during maintenance.

2. Selection of lubricating oil and additives. Worm gear reducers generally use 220 # gear oil. For reducers with heavy loads, frequent starts, and poor usage environments, some lubricating oil additives can be selected to ensure that the gear oil still adheres to the gear surface when the reducer stops running, forming a protective film to prevent direct contact between metals during heavy loads, low speeds, high torques, and startup. The additives contain sealing ring regulators and anti leakage agents, which keep the sealing ring soft and elastic, effectively reducing lubricating oil leakage.
3. Choose the installation position of the gearbox. If possible, vertical installation should be avoided as much as possible. When installing a worm gear reducer vertically, the amount of lubricating oil added is much higher than when installing horizontally, which can easily cause the reducer to heat and leak oil.
4. Establish a lubrication and maintenance system. According to the "five fixed" principle of lubrication work, maintenance can be carried out on the gearbox, ensuring that each gearbox is regularly inspected by a responsible person. If there is a significant temperature rise exceeding 40 ℃ or an oil temperature exceeding 80 ℃, the quality of the oil decreases, a large amount of copper powder is found in the oil, and abnormal noise is generated, it is necessary to immediately stop using, repair, troubleshoot, and replace the lubricating oil. When refueling, pay attention to the amount of oil to ensure that the gearbox is properly lubricated.
