Precautions for installation and maintenance of worm gear reducer

When installed vertically, the amount of lubricating oil added is much more than when installed horizontally, which may easily cause the reducer to heat up and leak oil.
Two. Ensure assembly quality. You can purchase or make your own special tools. When disassembling and installing reducer components, try to avoid hitting them with hammers and other tools. When replacing gears and worm gears, try to use original parts and replace them in pairs. When assembling the output shaft, pay attention Tolerance fit; use anti-sticking agent or red lead oil to protect the hollow shaft to prevent wear and rust or scale on the mating area, making it difficult to disassemble during maintenance.
Three. Establish a lubrication maintenance system. The reducer can be maintained according to the "five certain" principles of lubrication work, so that each reducer is regularly inspected by the responsible person. If it is found that the temperature rise is obvious, exceeding 40°C or the oil temperature exceeds 80°C, the quality of the oil has declined or the oil temperature has declined. When a large amount of copper powder or abnormal noise is found in the machine, stop using it immediately, conduct timely maintenance, eliminate faults, and replace lubricating oil. When refueling, pay attention to the amount of oil to ensure that the reducer is properly lubricated.
Four. Selection of lubricants and additives. Worm gear reducers generally use 220# gear oil. For reducers with heavy loads, frequent starts, and poor use environments, some lubricating oil additives can be used to make the gear oil still adhere to the gear surface when the reducer stops running, forming a protective film. , to prevent direct contact between metals during heavy load, low speed, high torque and startup. The additive contains sealing ring regulator and anti-leakage agent to keep the sealing ring soft and elastic, effectively reducing lubricating oil leakage.
