Precautions for maintenance and assembly of gearbox

Publish Time: 2023-04-27 Origin: site

Whether the gear engagement of the reducer meets the requirements, whether the contact surface is good, and whether the assembly clearance of various parts in the bearing area is appropriate are indicators of the quality of the assembly and repair of the WPWDKO80,WPWDKO100,WPWDKO120,WPWDKO135,WPWDKO155 reducer gear.

(1) When inspecting gears, if uneven wear, traces or local peeling are found on the tooth surface, the center distance of the gears, unevenness of each shaft, meshing clearance of the gears, levelness, coaxiality and contact of each bearing, quality of lubricating oil, whether other metal or non-metal objects fall into the gearbox, and whether there are signs of loosening of the gear keys and nuts should be immediately checked. The problems identified during inspection must be addressed as soon as possible and must not be forced to operate.

(2) If any tooth surface peeling is found during the inspection process, if the area does not exceed 30% of the effective joint area of the gear and does not affect the normal operation of other parts, it can continue to be used. However, regular inspections should be carried out to avoid changes in the situation. When the tooth surface peeling continues to increase and the operating condition begins to gradually deteriorate, it should be replaced immediately.

(3) When it is found that there is a significant difference in wear between the two gears and they cannot continue to be used together, replacing only the small gears becomes a temporary measure and should be replaced in pairs as soon as possible. In addition to repairing or replacing the gearbox, shaft, and gear, it is also necessary to replace worn or damaged rolling bearings or sliding bearings, and then inspect, adjust clearances, clean the box and all parts inside the box, and replace lubricating oil if necessary.

(4) After cleaning the gearbox, be sure to tighten the oil drain plug and add sufficient lubricating oil according to the specified lubricating oil grade. In addition, care should be taken to prevent foreign objects from falling into the box during maintenance.

(5) The sealing of the joint surface between the upper and lower boxes of the gearbox is the key to preventing oil leakage. The connection between the gearbox box and the box cover or flange can be sealed with gaskets or adhesive. The gasket materials include cardboard, copper sheet, lead sheet, oil resistant rubber, etc.

When the contact area that needs to be sealed is relatively large and the joint surface is relatively rough, the thickness of the gasket should be increased appropriately. When installing the gasket, it must be pressed tightly. If it is found that the gasket has lost elasticity or is damaged during disassembly, it must be replaced.
